Winning Hands Massage
I was recently asked which energy systems I engaged while working.
I replied that there is only ONE, interrelated, interconnected, unified
energy system in the body. There are, however, many different ways to access
or tap into it. That’s why there is such a proliferation of modalities. As
just one example, all forms of Shiatsu work with the meridians, but more in
a whole meridian at a time fashion, such as stretching the meridians.
Acupressure/acupuncture work with meridians as well, but are point specific.
As such, Thai massage can technically be considered a form of Shiatsu, but
not a form of acupressure. Just within the shiatsu/acupressure arenas alone,
there are many, many variants of each: Straight Shiatsu, Zen Shiatsu; Thai
Massage; traditional Acupressure, Jin Shin Jitsu, Jin Shin Do, Process
Acupressure. And these are just seven out of literally dozens of variants
that deal exclusively with just the meridians.
